Stage set for 30 minute play 'Distanced'.

The stage is set for a charity fundraiser.

On Saturday, under the guise of ‘Thirty Minute Theatre’, LVM Productions presented an evening of film and live action at Kingswear village hall in aid of Rowcroft Hospice. Thanks to the generosity of the capacity crowd and Kingswear residents who helped set it up, we raised £1,079 for the charity.

Screening of short films from LVM Productions

The evening consisted of two programs, a screening of six short films produced by Les Veale which were exceptionally well received. Then after drinks and a superb buffet prepared and served by Kingswear residents, a play written by Les entitled ‘Distanced’, about the pitfalls of online dating during the Covid pandemic, was performed live on stage.

Curtain call for the 30 minute play Distanced

As the cast (from L/R) Andy Killen, Jo Byrne, Suzy Miles and John Miles took a bow, Les was overwhelmed by the audience response. He said it wasn’t just the cheering and huge applause on the curtain call, but hearing nearly 80 people laughing at some of the lines and situations in the play was an absolute thrill and one of the best experiences in his creative endeavours, so now he’s looking at taking the play to the next ‘stage’!
